All HSDS classes are Sundays at The Melody Club. Click here to view our weekly class schedule. We offer lessons for beginner to advanced dancers. No partner necessary! Our weekly Sunday dance is 8:30-10:30pm following the lessons.
A new month of classes will begin on Sunday, January 6th.
The January elective is Jill and Jack. Ladies will be leading and men will be following. This class is designed to show you the dance from the other sides' perspective. We'll show you transition moves to switch back and forth. Electives are held on Sundays 7:30-8:30 at the Melody Club.

Are you interested in taking your dancing to the next level? Would you like to give back to our community by sharing your love of Lindy Hop with others? Do you like learning routines and flashy dance tricks? Then, HepCats may be the place for you. We are currently accepting new members into our performance team, the HepCats. Come out in January from 5:30-6:30pm to see if this is group is for you.
Lone Star Championships January 25-27th
Texas officially has its' first annual comeptition. The Lone Star Championships is an inspirational weekend party in Austin that will feature a weekend full of dancing, amazing competitions, and multiple instructors! This is a social event, not only for social dancing, but the comeptitions will be social dance competitions- Jack-and-Jills and Strictlys only. No matter what your level, there will be an opportunity for you to compete. Special workshops from Dan and Tiff. and live music by Giant City Sextet for Saturday's dances and competitions! Registration is open and is only $75 until January 20th!
Lindy Bowl is February 3rd!
Come join us at the Melody Club for class, food, FOOTBALL and a little bit of friendly competition!! Superbowl kick-off is at 5:18 and we'll be projecting the game on the big screen. We'll be providing you with pizza, you can bring your favorite snack, drink or dessert! Stay after the game for HSDS's own version of the superbowl...the Lindybowl! Four teams will battle it out lindy style for the top two spots and then for the ultimate title of Lindy Bowl Champs 2008!
Lindyfest is March 13-16th Registration is Open!
Lindyfest is an amazing lindy hop weekend workshop jammed packed with classes for all dance levels, soul sessions with living legends, hot performances, and four endless nights of dancing! Lindyfest brings in hundreds of dancers from all across the globe to learn from the masters and experience the excitement of lindy hop, all here in Houston. 2008 instructors are Frankie Manning, Chazz Young, Dawn Hampton, Sylvia Sykes, Jason Christodoulou, Steven Mitchell, Virginie Jensen, Peter Strom, Ramona Staffeild, Max Pitruzzella, Annie Trudeau, Nina Gilkenson, Andy Reidm Manu Smith, Ria Debiasi and Naomi Uyama.
