No partner necessary! Our weekly Sunday dance is 8:30-10:30pm following the lessons and is open to everyone! Lindyfest Registration Closes March 7th at Midnight The 15th annual Lindyfest workshop is March 10-13th 2011 and is shaping up to be a great one! Lindyfest is an intensive and fun lindy hop weekend workshop jammed packed with classes for all dance levels, soul sessions with living legends, hot performances and four endless nights of dancing. Lindyfest brings in hundreds of dancers from all across the globe to learn lindy hop from the masters and experience the excitement of Lindy Hop, all here in Houston.Our Lindyfest Instructors for 2011 are Dawn Hampton, Chazz Young, Steven Mitchell and Virginie Jensen, Sylvia Sykes and Nick Williams, Ryan Francois and Jenny Thomas, Skye Humphries and Frida Segerdahl, Peter Strom and Ramona Staffeld, Max Pitruzzella and Annie Trudeau and Kevin St Laurant and Jo Hoffberg and Naomi Uyama!!! Plus more suprises to come!! We will see a return of Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five, featuring Hilary Alexander for TWO nights! Online registration is open until March 7th at Midnight! Beginner's Crash Course March 12-13th HSDS is once again offering a special Beginner's Track Crash Course for people looking to start their journey into Lindy Hop during the Lindyfest weekend. In a very personalized setting, we start at the beginning and teach you how to put the triple in your step. You'll also be treated to special visits from legends of the dance. Registration is only $55 and includes 8 hours of instruction at the Sheraton Hotel plus entrance into the Saturday evening dance, which includes live music from Jonathan Stout and his Campus Five and our Big Saturday Night Show. No previous dance experience or partner is needed! Register online before March 7th or on-site Saturday, March 12th. For more information visit Lindyfest. Remember: March 13th All Classes are Canceled-Come to LIndyfest Instead!As we will all be at Lindyfest working with great instructors to improve our dancing, all levels of classes AND the Sunday night dance on March 13th are canceled. Don't fret, you can still dance with us all weekend long at the Sheraton Brookhollow. If you've paid for the month at HSDS, the Sunday night dance is Free! All other dances can be paid for individually (on the night of the dance) or you can purchase an all dance pass for $85. We'll be back to our normal schedule the rest of the month, but our dancing will be anything but normal! Watch out as our dancers improve leaps and bounds over the Lindyfest weekend! Dances at LindyfestSo you won't be able to make it to the workshop this year, but don't fear, you can still come out and join us for the dances! You won't want to miss the big nights on Friday and Saturday. We'll have tons of inspiring performances and hundreds of dancers to choose from!
